City Council approves deduct on Maryville Public Safety building project

This week, the Maryville City Council approved a change order in the contract with E.L. Crawford Construction concerning the new Maryville Public Safety facility project.

City Manager Greg McDanel says the changes will result in considerable savings to the project.

"Different construction methods, alternate materials used that really do not lessen the quality of construction, but are simply different than what was specked out in the bids.  So we were able to identify about $160,000 in savings.  We were able to reinvest $50,000 of that back into the contract.  So tonight the City Council approved a net deduct on the project of $108,000 which will come in handy as we talk about FF&E items on the facility, communications tower, and other expenses anticipated down the road."
